Are you in need to perform maintenance or inspection at your high-rise building?

Are you looking to do regular cleaning of your building’s window glass panels, glossy exteriors and facade? .

If so, you would have done a thorough research on various options available including scaffolding and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).

But what about rope access?

Rope access has become an alternative to all other traditional and popular means of high-rise access because of its simplicity, high efficiency, lower time consumption and cost-effectiveness.

With a pair of industrial ropes and few mobile equipment, the windows or the exterior of the whole building can be cleaned by IRATA certified technicians in just a matter of time with astute perfection.

Industrial rope access technique is used in various industries and applications such as oil and gas offshore sites, construction activities including building structures, wind turbines, oil rig platforms and bridges. For maintenance of high-rise buildings and conducting inspection and repairs at dangerous and inaccessible regions of the towers, rope access is overwhelmingly used.

To perform rope access, technicians are specially qualified and trained to withstand the impact of high altitude, excessive heat and wind, and get acclimatized to perform required services even in inhospitable conditions. There are various levels of qualifications that rope access personnel have to undergo depending upon the task they have to perform, which include:

To become a rope access technician, one has to be certified by IRATA International, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association, a recognized body for rope access qualifications in Dubai. There are three levels of qualifications that Rope Access Technicians can aim for depending upon their career aspirations and goal. They are: Level One (trainee), Level Two (General Operator) and Level Three (Supervisor).

Those who aspire to become rope access technicians should consider the fact that the job is physically demanding and hence workers need to be physically fit and mentally strong to perform rope access at elevated levels. Workers who are experienced in abseiling and caving using other technique such as electricians, plumbers, civil workers and painters may find rope access training easy and comfortable.

Rope access is the most preferred method by industries and building owners as technicians are competitive and certified to perform dangerous jobs safely, quickly and economically.

IRATA certification is valid for three years from the date of assessment. After that, technicians need to go for reassessment to regain the recognition. It is also mandatory for rope access personnel to remain in practice without a break. If they are inactive for six months, they have to do a refresher course to become active again.

With tons of experience under their belt, the team has competent professionals who are experienced and equipped with Level Three IRATA qualification Rope Access Supervisors.
